Happy and grateful

Heyy fam! Here we are, it’s the week of Thanksgiving. My goodness has this month flown by and soon Christmas will be here. Can you believe that this year is almost gone?? This week being Thanksgiving I was thinking about memories. You know the old going down memory lane. Well, picture it Akron 1996…

A beautiful young girl with glasses and her equally beautiful mother whose voice sounds like birds singing. Every year around Thanksgiving we would go to a plethora of supermarkets, and I remember unloading all of the groceries in our house. It seemed to take forever, but finally everything was unloaded and put away.

The night before Thanksgiving was when our kitchen came to life. I can’t stand cutting onions, they always make me cry. But my mom would cut the onions while I would cut the celery. Our house would permeate with the smell of turkey, and stuffing. Later we would make all the sides and dessert. We always had so much fun cooking, laughing and tasting everything.

Even now I still cook things the same way, and I think about how good things will taste and that great smell of wonderful food.

So, what are you happy and grateful for?

I still cling to those memories, but I’m so happy and grateful to have wonderful friends and family. I have a home, food and I feel like I’ve finally found my place in the world. Continue to be grateful fam!

  1. Beautiful memory! I am also grateful for family and, this year, not having to ask for time off or answer texts or calls but to be 100% present now that I am free of corporate life! Cheers to you and yours!

  2. I love beautiful memories like this, thanks for sharing. One of my favourites is of family holidays when we were little and we would all sing together in the car! So wonderful!

  3. This is such a lovely and wholesome memory. I’m also thankful for family, but I’m also thankful for the life I have and the people I’m surrounding myself with.

  4. I actually have my happy list up TODAY, it’s so important to focus on the things that makes us happy.
