Growing up as a young girl I remember my teachers asking me what do you want to be when you grow up? At eight or nine the only thing I thought about was being Whitney Houston. But as I grew up, my dream of wanting to be Whitney Houston faded away and I thought about being a child psychologist.
My high school teacher told us we were to write a paper on our career goals. In all the research I did, I thought child psychologist was a great fit. I loved the human mind and being around kids gave me a lot of joy. I was sure that I reached the right destination.
Question how has your life turned out? Any pit stops along the way?
So somehow from the age of 17 until twenty something I changed career goals and plunged into marriage and family therapy. I graduated with my degree and was ready to get my Masters and be the best therapist ever!
Well, I didn’t go to school for my Masters and here I am a great writer, blogger, ghostwriter and content creator. Has my life gone the way I thought it would? Absolutely NOT!
But, today my life is better than I ever imagined. I’ve hit quite a few road blocks but I’m glad they happened. If they didn’t, I wouldn’t be who I am today. So, what is life to me? It’s realizing the pit stops and finding joy in what you may not have thought of.
So what is life to you?
I was just thinking yesterday that my life is nothing that I had planned, but I am so grateful. I am blessed with an amazing husband and kids and I am content!
Wow that’s amazing! Are you living your dreams?
Oh, gosh, this is post hit me so hard. I love the way you wrote this. I remember wanting to be so many things when I was growing up. My life is changing every year now and I love it. Have come to embrace my changing directions and love myself for what I am doing.
Wow this is awesome. So what are you doing now
